Decorative artist James E. Todd and his associates specialize in extraordinary faux finishes, murals, special wall treatments & textures, trompe l’oeil, and old-style hand-painted signs.

With over 30 years of experience, James Todd began his career in the greater Cleveland area as a sign painter, learning from master craftsmen; this led to painting murals. While living in the San Francisco area for about 20 years, he began working in the motion picture and theater industries painting sets and scenery – where he mastered faux finishing techniques. Movies he worked on include “James and the Giant Peach,” “The Joy Luck Club,” and “Mrs. Doubtfire.” (See resume below for complete list of movies.)

Since returning to the Cleveland area ten years ago, he has connected with other local artists, focusing on painting murals and truly unique, highly individualized faux finishes.
